In striving to achieve quality a lot of hand work is needed on the vine.  Shoot positioning, leaf pulling, shoot thinning or cluster thinning are all needed to reach the high quality goal.  Trying to incorporate these concepts in vineyards with substantial acreage becomes difficult.  Easy to understand instructions to employees are critical to achieve the positive outcome.
